Day 1
Watamu/Malindi → Tsavo East → Watamu/Malindi
Your day begins with a 6:00 AM pick-up from your Watamu or Malindi hotel, followed by a sunrise drive toward Tsavo East National Park (approx. 150–170 km / 3 hours depending on your exact location).
As the landscapes shift from palm-lined roads to the wide-open red plains of Tsavo, your guide shares stories about the region’s wildlife and history.
Upon entering Tsavo East, your mid-morning game drive begins across the famous red-earth savannah.
You search for the park’s legendary elephant herds, lions basking near waterholes, graceful giraffes, zebras, and a rich variety of birds.
Around midday, enjoy an optional lunch at a lodge inside the park, then continue your afternoon game drive through areas such as Aruba Dam. Later, exit the park and return to Watamu or Malindi (approx. 150–170 km / 3 hours) as the sun sets behind the plains.
