Day 1
Nairobi – Mt Kenya Bandas (2,900m)
Depart Nairobi at 8:00 AM and drive through the fertile agricultural highlands toward Chogoria Town, arriving in time for lunch.
After lunch, continue with a 4x4 transfer to the edge of the bamboo forest where your trek officially begins.
The hike follows a scenic trail through dense bamboo forest and mountain vegetation for approximately 10 km before arriving at Mt Kenya Bandas for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2
Mt Kenya Bandas – Lake Ellis Campsite (3,600m)
After breakfast and porter load organization, begin a gradual ascent toward Lake Ellis.
The trail offers magnificent views of Mugi Hill, Ithanguni, and the Giant’s Billiard Table while traversing beautiful alpine scenery and moorland vegetation.
Lunch is served beside a mountain stream before continuing uphill to the peaceful Lake Ellis Campsite located away from the busier tourist trails.
The tranquil setting and alpine lake views make this an excellent acclimatization stop.

Day 3
Lake Ellis – Minto’s Camp (4,200m)
After an early breakfast, continue trekking along a scenic ridge route for approximately three hours before joining the main Chogoria trekking trail at around 4,100m altitude.
The route provides breathtaking panoramic views across the Gorges Valley and the Northern Moorlands.
After lunch at a stream crossing, continue for another hour to Minto’s Camp.
In the afternoon, an optional short walk to the famous “Temple” viewpoint is highly recommended for dramatic cliff-edge scenery.
Early rest is encouraged in preparation for summit day.

Day 4
Minto’s Camp – Point Lenana (4,985m) – Old Moses Camp (3,300m)
Your summit attempt begins around 3:00 AM under the stars.
The climb to Point Lenana takes approximately three hours, arriving in time to witness a spectacular African sunrise over the surrounding landscapes.
After celebrating your summit achievement, descend to Shipton’s Camp for breakfast before continuing through Mackinder’s Valley toward Old Moses Camp.
The long descent passes through scenic moorlands and alpine vegetation zones.

Day 5
Old Moses Camp – Sirimon Gate – Nairobi
After breakfast, descend gradually for approximately three hours to Sirimon Gate through scenic moorland and forest landscapes.
Upon arrival at the gate, meet your transfer vehicle and depart for Nairobi.
Arrive in Nairobi later in the afternoon with unforgettable memories of your Mount Kenya trekking adventure.
