Day 1
Nairobi – Chogoria Bandas (2,950m)
After pickup in Nairobi, drive toward Chogoria Town before continuing to the park gate for registration formalities.
From here, continue through the dense rainforest zone before being dropped off for the start of your trek.
The hike covers approximately 5–10 km through beautiful forest scenery leading to Chogoria Bandas campsite.
Enjoy dinner and overnight surrounded by Mount Kenya’s peaceful wilderness.

Day 2
Chogoria Bandas – Lake Ellis (3,455m)
After breakfast at approximately 8:00 AM, begin trekking toward Lake Ellis while passing the beautiful Nithi Falls.
The trail gradually ascends through giant heather vegetation and alpine moorlands with spectacular mountain scenery.
The trek takes approximately 6–7 hours before arriving at Lake Ellis campsite, a peaceful alpine location ideal for acclimatization and relaxation.

Day 3
Lake Ellis – Lake Michaelson (4,000m)
Breakfast is served at 7:00 AM before beginning a longer and more demanding trek toward Lake Michaelson.
The route covers approximately 10 km with an altitude gain of around 650m, reaching a high point of approximately 4,200m before descending into the spectacular Gorges Valley.
Arrive at Lake Michaelson campsite surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery and enjoy dinner and overnight stay in this remote alpine environment.

Day 4
Lake Michaelson – Simba Tarn (4,600m)
Breakfast is served at 8:00 AM before departing for Simba Tarn.
This shorter trekking day serves mainly as an acclimatization day to help prepare for the summit attempt.
The trek covers approximately 5 km and takes around 4–5 hours.
Upon arrival at camp, lunch is served followed by optional short walks or time to relax while enjoying the surrounding mountain scenery.

Simba Tarn – Point Lenana Summit (4,985m) – Shipton’s Camp (4,200m)
Wake up at approximately 4:30 AM for the summit attempt.
After a light snack and hot drink, begin the steep scree ascent at 5:00 AM toward Point Lenana, covering approximately 2 km in around 2 hours.
Reach the summit at sunrise and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views across the surrounding landscapes.
After celebrating your summit achievement, descend to Shipton’s Camp for breakfast and spend the rest of the day relaxing beneath Mount Kenya’s main peaks — Batian and Nelion.
Optional short walks around camp are available.

Shipton’s Camp – Old Moses Camp (3,300m)
After breakfast, descend leisurely through the scenic Mackinder’s Valley toward Old Moses Camp.
The trail passes through beautiful moorland vegetation and offers excellent views of Mount Kenya’s alpine terrain.
Arrive at Old Moses Camp in the afternoon for dinner and overnight stay.
